Frequently Asked Questions

A notary public is basically an official witness for important documents. We act as a neutral third party to make sure that everything is on the up and up. Here’s how it works:

  • You have a crucial document, like a will or a power of attorney (giving someone permission to handle your affairs).
  • When you come to see us, we’ll ask you to show your ID for verification purposes.
  • Next, we’ll verify that you understand the document and that you’re signing it willingly.
  • Finally, after you have signed the document, we will stamp the document with our official seal, proving we witnessed the signing.

This adds an extra layer of security to the document, making it harder for someone to forge it or claim you signed it under pressure. Think of us as a guardian against document-related shenanigans!

For real estate documents, you may need a secondary ID. If you can’t provide an ID, a witness may be able to accompany you. Contact us to learn more.
